Have you thought about growing hops this year? Alternative Beverage just recently got the rhizomes in. They grow very quickly, and can reach 20ft during the growing season. Each year they die back to the roots, or crown.
If you do decide to get some I would like you to pick up a few, in which case if you could contact me somehow. Phone, email, facebook, I don’t know which is easiest, if you write on my facebook wall I will see it and I can give you a call about it sometime.
Anyway, sounds like we are looking into similar things, gardening, beekeeping, beer/wine making. I would like about 70 acres, mostly woods, about 20 acres of fields. 5-10 acre vineyard, than have fruit crop of about 10 acres and than have 5 acres for food for me. I REALLY want a cow, chickens, goats. I have a few books you might be interested in reading. I can bring them to church sometime.
And there you just defined the property that I’ve been looking for. Don’t forget the creek or pond on the property.
I hadn’t thought about doing hops, perhaps I should think about that. How does 20ft relate to a batch of brew? How many would I want to get? AB isn’t out of my way too bad if I drive in to work, I’d be glad to stop in.
